Our take on what "impact" some of the new crop of NFL Rookies will
have on the 2006 Fantasy Football season ....
QUARTERBACKS
* Vince Young - Not much of an impact this season, as he learns the ropes
from the
sidelines. Might be the Titan's starter for the 2007 season.
* Matt Leinart - I think the Titans, Jets, and Raiders will regret passing
him up.
He is in a GREAT situation though, with 2 excellent WR's and a good RB.
Might see
some spot action by midseason, and may start a few late season games if
Warner
struggles or is injured.
* Jay Cutler - Good situation "eventually", but won't play much in 2006.
Plummer is
coming off a good year.
RUNNING BACKS
* Reggie Bush - Not a bad situation, considering the injury to McAllister.
I think
he will eventually be a stud NFL RB. Durability a question, as he rarely had
more than
20 carries a game at USC.
* Laurence Maroney - Dillon is getting up in age, and has had a few nagging
injury
problems. Should see some action this season, may be the starter sometime in
2007. Not
a great receiver.
* DeAngelo Williams - Might become the starter If Foster isn't healthy. Has
had his own
injury problems in the past though.
* Joe Addai - Colts need a RB, Joe could be their man, but he wasn't even
the full-time
RB at LSU.
* Lendale White - Good place, Titans need a big bruising RB. Might get a
lot of goal-line
carries by mid-season.
WIDE RECEIVERS / TIGHT ENDS
* Vernon Davis - Big and fast, could be the next Tony Gonzales. QB
situation iffy though.
* Santonio Holmes - Should take Randle El's old spot. Won't make a big
impact this season though.
* Mercedes Lewis - BIG TE, and makes big catches. Also a very good blocker,
although that won't help you any.
* Chad Jackson - Set Florida's school record for yards per catch. Going to
a good situation with the Patriots.
* Sinorice Moss - Santana's Moss brother. Won't make much of an impact in
06.
KICKERS
* None taken in first 3 rounds of NFL draft.
